3D Data in the Digital Age

RCI Digital is Research Casting International's answer to Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums in the Digital Age

Research Casting International (RCI) is one of the world's most renowned providers of museum technical services and has created some of the most significant paleontological displays on the planet, including featured dinosaurs at the Royal Ontario Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian, the British Museum of Natural History, and many more. Our primary work is centralized around the preservation and presentation of dinosaur fossil, expertly specializing in everything from the safe removal of the fossil from the surrounding stone, repair and stabilization of fossil through consolidation, creating exact replicas via molding and casting, and the manufacturing of bespoke armatures for mounting. Established in 1987, RCI has grown from a team of three to nearly 50, over 37 years of business                and hosts the largest facility of its kind.

Beyond dinosaur mounting, our work includes theming, prop production, concrete, rockwork, artificial trees, 5 axis routing, hard coat and foam fabrication, bronze and aluminum casting, sculpting, and much more. In addition, RCI has been developing a state of the art 3D printing lab and has been at the forefront of transitioning the industry from molding and casting to scanning and printing, a transition that is accelerating rapidly with each passing year.

With this recognition, we have initialized RCI Digital as the fifth branch of our company, to go with our primary paleontological services in Research Casting International, RCI Studios, RCI Theming, and Exploration Exhibits. The primary objective of RCI Digital is to provide some of the most significant institutions around the globe with the security and required resources to be able to create a new world of digital services for the public; what some are referring to as The Digital Renaissance.
